Ten Tweets on “Marks of a Stewarding Leader” (1 Corinthians 4:1-21)

Here's the weekend sermon in 10 tweets (Letter to the Corinthians series):

/ Spiritual leadership is about stewardship. The church is a field, building/temple, and household.

/ Mark 1: Faithfulness. “It is required of stewards that they be found faithful.” (4:2)

/ Paul: “It is the Lord who judges me.” Judgment is a broader, more positive concept than most of us realize.

/ Judgment redeems. It gets the hell out of God’s creation, his good earth.

/ Judgment purifies and disciplines. God is more concerned with our character than our comfort.

/ Judgment rewards. God’s "well done." More responsibility.

/ Pride for a Christian is illogical.

/ Stewarding leadership suffers—it says “no” to now, to me, to temptation, for the sake of others.

/ Comer: “When the crucified Messiah become the cosmic vending machine, life coach, I exist to make you happy…”

/ Spiritual leaders mentor personally and lovingly. They say what needs to be said, even it’s it’s hard to hear.
