Cuba Partnership
As part of our FOR [ ] Campaign we designated funds for partnering with the Willow Creek Association to sponsor the Global Leadership Summit in Cuba. We were on site for the first GLS in Cuba and met our future partners from Santa Clara.
Our hope has always been to use the Summit as a means of partnering with the church in Cuba at this historic time of opportunity.
After assembling our team to attend the first GLS in Santa Clara, Cuba, the conference was postponed by the government. But as far as our partnership is concerned, this is the best thing that could have happened.
The extra time we had with church leaders because of the cancelation accelerated our understanding of the church in Cuba and, most importantly, our relationship with Pastor Miguel (who visited with us in MN last August) and his team.
When people ask me what's next, I explain that what's next to have some of their leaders come to MN and share more deeply with us how they make disciples who make disciples and multiply churches because they are way ahead of us. We have much to learn from them.
