Father Damien

I got this email and pictures from someone attending one of our Christmas services. If you were not there, I read an account of Father Damien's ministry among lepers from John Ortberg's book God is Closer Than You Think. (You can find it at the opening of the chapter called "Waldo Jr.")

My family and I just got back from the Saturday 3:30
pm service and loved the message you gave.  We
recently went to Molokai and rode mules down deep into
the valley to the Kalupapa peninsula to the leper
colony, where lepers still are living, and where
Father Damien's church is located, along with the many
graves.  It was touching to see and to again hear
about such love and courage....a great example of
Jesus' love.
