Staffing Change in Small Groups Ministry
Here's an email announcement that went out to our small group leaders yesterday. Check it out.
Dear Small Groups Leaders:
Meet your new Small Groups Ministry Director: Me! Before you all run for the hills I want you to know that our goal is to have someone in this role full-time early next year.“What about Bob?” you ask. We’ve asked Bob to focus exclusively on the Hudson launch for the coming months. Bob’s life these days is consumed with meeting with families who have shown an interest in joining our new launch, building the launch team, equipment and location issues, promotion and outreach in Hudson and a myriad of other details as we begin this adventure. Running small groups is just one thing too many on his plate right now.
That means that I’m stepping into the small groups role for a short time. How will I do it? Only with God’s help and yours. In a sense, I’m uniquely qualified for this because this has been my baby since day one at Five Oaks. That’s why I’m excited about the next few months (and a bit scared, too). But I’m also excited because we’re planning a huge small groups initiative in the fall built around the 40 Days of Community Campaign from Purpose Driven Ministries. I think you will find this to be a great time of renewal and inspiration around doing life together as a small group. Your group members will be more energized and you will be greater equipped as a leader. We also hope to start a boatload of brand new groups as part of the campaign. More on this at our annual August breakfast meeting.
Would you like to help? Here are some things you can do. You can reply to this email to let me know of your interest.
- Join the 40 Days of Community Campaign team.
- Pray for me and the small groups team.
- Join the small groups ministry team (we will have a couple of key openings starting in August).
- Join the coaching ranks. Joe Lehn is taking leadership of this area and is looking to add to our coaching ranks.
- Join the small group leadership ranks (I added this one for this post).
Please let me know if you’d like to discuss any of these options.
Thank you for all you do and your dedication to your ministry.
In Christ,
Henry
