A Team of Teams
Our entire staff meets on Tuesdays to report on what’s happening and coming up so that we function as a team of teams. Today was no exception, except we were on Zoom.
Here are some just a few of the highlights from our meeting:
We saw some videos of families using “more cowbell” at home during the service online.
Opportunities to serve are now up on our Impact page. It includes instructions on how to use the Nextdoor app to find ways to help your neighbors.
If you combine the number of website views of the online service on platforms like our website, Vimeo, and YouTube, you get a total of over 1500 hits.
Giving this past weekend was on par with what giving is on a normal gathering weekend. That’s simply amazing and takes a lot of faith on the part of a lot of people!
60-70% of our giving was already online when this all started. So thankful for that.
Student ministries is shooting the daily devotionals for the rest of the week today.
29 Journeymen met on Zoom last Saturday.
We’re shifting how we film our weekend and Lent services this week. More to come on that.
The 11th/12th grade Bible study watched Groundhog Day together virtually using Netflix Party. None had seen the movie. Can I hear you all say, “Whew! Watch out for the first step. It’s a doozy!”
Our Operations Team is working on how the CARES act passed by congress applies to churches and getting the ball rolling on applying for funds designed to keep people employed.
We have suspended our outdoor work and indoor cleaning contracts for now to save money.
The concrete has been poured to prepare for the new gym floor, but we’re waiting on buying the floor (which will be paid for with the insurance money).
The World Vision Global 6K, an event we have been planning on participating in, will become a virtual event. More to come on that. It builds wells. Think about people who can’t wash their hands regularly during this crisis. Those are the kinds of folks helped by this event.
More pictures below. Henry Michael told the youth he’s not shaving his head until this is all over. It seems he underestimated how fast his hair would grow. And Kelly found some old earphones while rummaging though some stuff.
