This is Us

We are the church, whether we are gathered or scattered--each one of us, a part of the body of Christ, wherever we go, whatever we do.

So, where can you find us, and what are we doing?

Meet the Harmenings.  William joined their family through international adoption in April of 2017 from China.   If you see a high energy boy from China roaming (or perhaps running) the halls of Five Oaks, chances are it is young William. As Todd put it, “China found us in the middle of our adoption journey. We were pursuing domestic adoption to have a second child and became aware there was a need for toddler boys.  We felt William was a good fit for our family after, considering many factors. Guided by prayer and by friends who also had stepped out to adopt from China we made a trip half way around the world to bring home William.  We are still all adjusting as a family and are proud of the challenges both William and Hannah, our daughter, have met.  William has met the challenge of the English language, schooling, and adjusting to a new family far from all that he had been familiar with. Hannah has met the challenges of sharing her space, things, and parents with an energetic little brother. The steps of the journey have not been without challenges AND God is good.  We are forever grateful to our family, our small group ‘village,’ and other friends within the church and  community that have helped us grow and see His work in all of their lives.”
