This Small Group May Be What You've Been Looking For
A few weeks ago I talked about a new kind of small group that I would love to see at Five Oaks. It's a group that forms around an Impact ministry and everyone in the group participates. In fact, for this kind of small group, you only belong to the group if you participate in its Impact focus.
Brian and Jenna Friedman will be leading this group (pictured with their son, Michael)
Our first Impact Group is starting. It's a little different from what I envisioned, but it's a great vision.
Here's the idea. It will be intergenerational, involving kids as much as possible (some projects will require child care). Each week there will be a different Impact challenge. So that time in the Word and prayer will be done in the context of ministry. Some ideas brewing include: Union Gospel Mission, Ronald McDonald House, Karen Refugees, gratitude to local police and firefighters, nursing home, and more.
The group will meet on Sundays at 4:30pm. It starts November 1 and ends December 6. The next session will begin after the new year.
This is a great opportunity to connect with other through serving together.
