Two Games at Once

Henry Michael (our oldest son, sophomore at Eau Claire) came home for the first time this fall. He came in for the Haiti team meeting. About all I wanted to do this afternoon was take a nap, but the Redskins and Chiefs were playing the noon game. One of the things H.M. and I love to do together is watch the Redskins and Chiefs, so off we went to Throwbacks to have lunch and watch two games at once. Beats watching three games at once--Vikes, Chiefs and Redskins. We did that once and it was pure stress and confusion. Anyway, the Chiefs wrapped up a win and then the Redskins won an unbelievable one over the Cowboys. I've been a Redskins fan since '72 and the Cowboys have been my sworn enemy all these years, so it felt great. (I became a Redskins fan at the beginning of the season when the Dolphins went undefeated. I lived in Miami and the Dolphins tied up their undefeated season beating my Redskins. Not smart, but I've been faithful.) Vikings were disappointing, but I still hope they can pull it together. Fantasy team lost 98-115, so I'll be 5-4. But nothing can take away the fun of seeing the Skins win.

Ready for Some Football?

Lois and I went to the game last night. How disappointing. Our first live Monday night game. To make it worse, we were sitting next to a Patriots fan. Then I go into the office today and remember that I office next to a Patriots fan (Dana)!

We were ready for some football. A Monday night party... One good thing about the game. My sinus's opened up just before half-time and I could taste for the first time in days. Didn't last.

To add insult to injury... My fantasy team tied my opponent this week with 102 points. So we had to go to bench points. Tied at 44 (I know, that's pitiful; I sat Desmond Clark this week and he scored about 26 points). So it went to which quarterback did better. He won. I'm 5-3 and in second place in my division.
