Your Financial Peace Stories 4

More from the 3x5 cards:

  • During this series I have realized how much I have not contributed financially towards God's kingdom. I have been very self-centered in keeping things in control for my benefit. I have made a commitment to use the blessings that God has bestowed on us to help other people by doing God's work--giving it back to God for what he has blessed me with.
  • We read Dave 3 years ago. 1 year into our marriage. His general message has allowed us (with God's hand) to pay off close to $60,000. This message was a push in the right direction. We praise the Lord.
  • I think we were doing a lot fo the right activities (spending plan, etc.), but not necessarily with God's priorities always in mind. Thank you for the opportunities to focus!

"You saved the best for last." That's the phrase that hit me this morning in my listening to John 2. Here's an excerpt from my "email" to God:

"You saved the best for last." ...whatever our circumstances, you really are saving the best for last. The best I enjoy here is a mere shadow of what you have in store for me and for us. Please help me enjoy life without holding on to the shadows too tightly. Help me endure suffering of all kinds without losing hope. Help all those in our congregation who are right now facing financial and medical and emotional issues that so painful. Help them see the best is still to come. Give them hope. Help me live today with the future--your future and your kingdom--taking priority. Keep my thoughts and my actions centered on you.
