Here's the weekend sermon in 10 Tweets, "Where's the Glory?," Galatians 1:10-24 (Series: Inside Out: Galatians) Against the Stream... 1// We don't recognize the gospel in the context of the D to Z of the Christian life.

2// People pleasing is incompatible with serving Christ.

3// Pleasing God is not a license to displease people--to offend, to be inconsiderate, to be disagreeable.

4// Paul cared what people thought of him for the right reason--to win others to Christ.

5// Paul: "For though I am free from all, I have made myself a servant to all, that I might win more of them." 1 Cor 9:19

6// No one in the NT is accused of being a people-pleaser more than Paul and Jesus. The gospel makes the religious uncomfortable.

7// People pleasing can be manipulative or it can be the disease to please.

8// You have been approved by God in Christ. Gal 3:26-27...you have been clothed in Christ

9// Tell you story: keep it short & relevant, your story's not boring (2 Cor 2:4-6), God overrules your worst intentions. Gal 1:23-24

10// Where's God's glory in your story? His glory shines in the places of transformation.

Here are 10 Tweets from Tim Bubar's sermon from the weekend, "Elijah Prays," 1 Kings 18:41-46: 1// You may have a personal relationship with God, but do you ever relate to him person-to-person?

2// James tells us that Elijah prayed and it stopped raining. He prayed again and it started raining.

3// To understand what Elijah is doing, you have to understand what God is doing and has done.

4// God makes a promise, and in doing so he initiates and directs our prayer.  Elijah and Daniel prayed in response to God's promises, and they knew what to pray for.

5// Pray God's promises back to him - for your loved ones, for yourself, for his kingdom.

6// God reveals his power, and in doing so he motivates our prayer. Elijah knew that God could do anything.

7// Have you put yourself in a position to see God's power displayed?

8// God responds to prayer, and in doing so he emboldens our prayer.  Elijah prayed boldly, fervently, persistently.

9// The Puritans said sometimes you need to "pray yourself into prayer."

10// Your excuse may be that you're no Elijah.  Sorry, James already beat you to that one - "Elijah was as human as we are." "The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working."
