Here’s one from Izwe Nkosi in a recent Lectio 360 devotional:

“God of welcome, You invite me into Your family. I sit at Your table and savour Your word to me. Help me receive all the nourishment You have for me today.”

In a world where we try to explain everything that exists from a psychological, sociological, and biological perspective, we need this—a reminder of the wonder of the reality that the God of the universe not only is, but he welcomes us and communicates with us. He feeds us from his Word.

“Speak, for your servant is listening” (1 Samuel 3:10) needs to be a more constant prayer in my life.

God of welcome, Grow my heart to listen.
