Japan

We're on vacation in Japan! We're visiting our friends Hector and Beth Dalton. Hector's here with 3M, and they've been here for almost two years. They really know their way around and Beth is doing really well on her Japanese. The Cherry Blossoms are blooming, which is a very special time here.

The plane trip was 12 hours long. I didn't mind it too much, but Lois was a little antsy toward the end. We're 14 hours ahead here, so it's been interesting adjusting to the time change. Since we get back on Good Friday, preaching five Easter services with jet lag could be interesting. But it's worth it!

Sunshine!

The sun was shining in San Diego. Delicious lunch with my friend Kenny at Phil's BBQ. Nice walk on the La Jolla Shores beach (I may have pinked up a little). Went to my favorite restaurant in San Diego for coffee and to read a bit. Brockton Villa. Overlooks La Jolla Cove. The food is fine, but the view is outstanding. Dinner out with Kenny and his family and hanging with them for the evening. They gave me the low down on American Idol (haven't been watching it), so now I can pick it up for the rest of the season. Same thing last year. They're devoted fans and TIVO it. Nice day off. Fly out very early tomorrow.
